The gates of Turkistan, opened to the world! Fly Arystan Airlines carried out the first flight at Turkistan International Airport on December 1.
The flight activity of the Turkistan International Airport began with the flight of the airline Fly Arystan from Nur-Sultan.
In his statement, YDA Group Chairman Husseyin Arslan said about Turkistan International Airport, which operates on the basis of a PPP project (public-private enterprise) and built by 100% private capital of YDA Group: “Turkistan International Airport was built in a record 11 months. Its peculiarity is that it is the first airport of the Greenfield type in the post-Soviet space, built from scratch. Our airport, opened on September 28 with the solemn participation of our Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev, will allow Turkistan to become a gateway to the world. As a YDA, we perceive Kazakhstan as our second Homeland. The first PPP project is Aktau International Airport that we built in 2007 and which continues to operate successfully. Today we have the honor to meet our first passengers at the airport of Turkistan, which will be another of our successful projects along with the existing airport of Aktau. We also believe that we will have even larger projects on the territory of the Great Kazakh Steppe, which can become a symbol of Kazakh-Turkish brotherhood and friendly relations. I wish well-being and prosperity to Turkistan International Airport.”
Passenger traffic of 3 million people per year will allow the airport to ensure the development of world tourism. The project of Turkistan International Airport provides for the presence of an area of 905 hectares, a runway with a length of 3300 m, 2 taxiways, 1 service area, and an apron with a capacity of 7 large-sized aircraft, a terminal and industrial buildings with a total area of 25 thousand square meters. The expected annual passenger traffic will be 3 million people. Flights to Istanbul, Mecca, Baku, Moscow and Dubai are planned to be carried our at Turkistan International Airport.
