Turkistan International Airport pays special attention to aviation security measures aimed at protecting the life and health of passengers and visitors to the airport, airport facilities, as well as preventing and suppressing illegal trafficking in weapons, explosives and other dangerous items. To solve these problems, a special enterprise, Turkistan International Airport Security, was created.

The company operates in the following areas:
ensuring aviation security at the airport;
inspection of aircraft, passengers, crew members, service personnel, baggage and hand luggage;
cargo, mail, and on-board inventory inspection;
providing access control, protection of aircraft, the airport territory and civil aviation facilities located on it.

Operational management of the security of the airport complex and the perimeter of the controlled area of the airport is carried out through a centralized control center.

Profiling methods are actively used during inspection procedures. Patrolling the terminal building is carried out by employees of the canine service with service dogs that have received special training in detecting explosives. Employees of the dog service are also involved in checking educational institutions in order to examine them for the presence of explosives in the framework of anti-terrorist training, to examine suspicious items, vehicles, and when anonymous signals are received about preparing terrorist acts.

Airport halls, production areas and security checkpoints are monitored around the clock by audio and video surveillance systems. Security zones are organized on the forecourt and near other airport facilities.

In order to ensure effective pre-flight inspection, the aviation security service uses modern technical means: millimeter scanning systems, x-ray television introscopes, gas analyzers, portable explosive detectors, etc.

At the moment, all passenger screening points at Turkistan airport are equipped with a new generation of scanners that allow you to organize the passenger screening procedure as quickly and efficiently as possible. The technology provides detection of objects made of metal, wood, ceramics, plastic and other materials hidden on the human body. The device emits active millimeter waves, which, without penetrating the human skin, are reflected from it at extremely low power levels and are absolutely harmless. Using the scanner speeds up the process of passengers passing the inspection procedure: each scan takes about 3 seconds. The entire verification process, including analysis of the received data, takes about 10 seconds.

The airport uses an automatic baggage sorting system that includes an integrated multi-level baggage inspection system that automatically detects items that are prohibited for transportation on aircraft. A special feature of the system is the use of a unique combination of different technologies – multipath scanning, computed tomography and diffraction. Currently, there is a four-level baggage inspection system.

Each aircraft is under constant video monitoring while parked on the airport apron. Before boarding passengers, a mandatory pre-flight inspection of the cabin and technical (luggage) compartments is performed.

With the help of x-ray introscopes with the function of detecting organic and inorganic compounds, as well as gas analyzers and service dogs, the entire volume of cargo and mail is inspected.

A 100% two-level inspection of on-board supplies is carried out (on-board food, buffet and kitchen equipment and duty-free goods): video monitoring at the assembly stage in the workshops of the on-board food factory and inspection of the completed on-board food when loading into autolifts for shipment on board.

Entry of vehicles into the controlled area of the airport is carried out after identification by security systems of the driver’s personal pass and vehicle pass. In this case, the vehicle, drivers and passengers of vehicles are subject to mandatory inspection. Checkpoints are equipped with technical means of stopping vehicles, which eliminates the possibility of unauthorized entry into the airport territory.

The perimeter controlled area of the airport is equipped with modern engineering and technical security equipment: a security and perimeter alarm system, security lighting, and video cameras.

DEVELOPMENT PLAN:

To increase the level of aviation security at the airport, it is planned to introduce automation tools and specialized information systems, including:
equipping security control zones with scanners of transport documents that allow them to automatically verify their authenticity;
installation of information monitors on special control racks that allow the ASD (Aviation Security Department) employee to pre-assess the degree of potential danger to the passenger and send him for a special inspection;
creation of a Crisis Center for managing and coordinating the activities of Enterprise services in emergency situations;
implementation of a system of full-height turnstiles with integrated biometric readers in areas of restricted access for personnel.
